Hello Audrey
Gosh I am soo sorry to hear this. 2 weeks off to come back to that dreadful news I can't begin to understand how you are feeling - distraught I know. Loyality appears to mean nothing - yet it should all the hours that you have put in. It is not your fault that you are ill and have had time off work. I do hope that your union really do fight your cause. Ring the NRAS helpline I am sure that they will be very interested and I am sure that they will fight your case and help all they can. Disgusting.
Please try and stay strong, a big ask, you have all of us on this site.
Take Care
Rose x

Hi Audrey
I'm sorry to hear that you are being treated so badly. You really don't need extra stress, the RA is enough to deal with on it's own. I'm sure there must be laws about the way you are being treated by them. They can't get away with this. As Rose says, talk to NRAS as they will know all the laws.

Oh Audrey-this is an appalling way to treat you. I'm sure if Rich sees this he will put you on the right track. YES I'VE CHANGED, PAIN DOES THAT TO PEOPLE.

Hi Audrey, This is appalling news, so sorry to hear this. As Julie says Rich will be able to advise you, he is very good with advice in this department. I do hope you get some satisfaction with this. Good service counts for nothing nowadays. Good luck and take care. Lorna

Very sorry to hear this Audrey - just what you didn`t need. Hopefully Rich will see your post and maybe have some helpful suggestions. I do hope the stress doesn`t trigger off a flare, on top of the bad news you`ve just received. Take care, Kathleen C x

Hi Audrey
I wish you all the luck in the world with your appeal. Talk about being kicked while you are down. As if having RA isn't enough to contend with. I hope you get something sorted out.

Hi Audrey Sorry to hear about the way you have been treated, life can certainly seem very unfair at times. My thoughts would be to try and stay calm and think about what you really want from this situation. It's quite easy to get straight into the appeal/tribunal thing because they have, seemingly, acted unfairly in dismissing you. Is that road you want to travel? Sometimes things happen for a reason and cause us to stop and have a rethink about our lives generally. Do you actually want to continue working for this employer knowing how they have treated you? Indeed would your life improve from having a break from work? Would it give the RA a chance to improve? How would your quality of life be affected by the loss of income? Sometimes looking at the broader picture can add a different perspective. Bear in mind it may be very difficult to get another job with the RA in tow, but there are always volunteer roles to fill which can give you something worthwhile to focus on and a new interest too. As for benefits I'm really out of touch these days there have been so many changes but this link to employment and benefits on the NRAS site may give you some practical tips until Rich returns from his sojourn to the inner depths of the big City (hope he's not got strung up in the tower for being bolshy and militant ) Thinking of you Audrey, Lyn x
